Using sketches of artists living during New Orleans’ 100th Anniversary celebration, local author/artist Morgan Molthrop painted this mural in three pieces, each four feet wide and fifteen feet high. Includes the original custom’s house, the Governor’s house, the cathedral before anglicization, the hospital, barracks, Ursuline convent, the windmill, the first steamboat, Abraham Lincoln’s flatboat, and Congo Square. One of nine major pieces based on old maps of New Orleans. Molthrop painted the monumental works for the Tricentennial. This event will be taking pace at the New Orleans Art Center located at 3330 St. Claude Ave.
